Tutorial 1:  Waveforms and Multiple Access for 5G Mobile Communication (09:00-10:30, 11:00-13:00)

kiran Kiran Kumar Kuchi received B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communications engineering from Sri Venkateswara University college of Engineering Tirupati, in 1995, MS and PhD degrees both in Electrical engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington, Texas, USA, in 1997 and 2006 respectively. Between 2000-2008, he was with Nokia Research, Irving, Texas where he contributed to the development of GSM/EDGE, WiMax and LTE systems. During 2008-2011, he was with Centre of Excellence in Wireless Technology (CEWiT) where led the 4G research and standardization efforts. He was also an adjunct faculty with the department of Electric Engineering, IIT Madras during this time.Presently, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Hyderabad. His current research interests physical layer algorithms, development of prototypes and products for 4G/5G mobile communication systems. Dr.Kuchi holds the position of chairman, Wireless Systems Study Group-1 of Telecommunications Standards Development Society, India (TSDSI).

Tutorial 2:  From Network Science to Network Engineering: Understanding and Building Dynamic Networks (09:00-10:30, 11:00-13:00)

pavelProf. PavelLoskot (SMIEEE) has been involved in numerous academic and industry projects since 1996.He holds degrees in biomedical engineering, radioelectronics and wireless communications, andalso have background in statistical signal processing, applied mathematics, software developmentand computational biology. He has extensive experience in delivering courses to university studentsand industrial audiences in different countries around the world. In spring 2000, he envisioned thatfuture telecommunication systems have to be adaptive across OSI layers and defined theirfundamental design trade-offs which earned him Nokia Research award in autumn the same year. In2004-2006, he worked on the design of energy-efficient radios which led to fundamental realizationthat the physical layer is ultimately limited by the presence of additive noise, so less-noisy hardwarecomponents will enable significant advances in new generation telecommunication systems. Inspring 2012, he organized an interdisciplinary research group in networks declaring networks to bethe next big thing in Engineering. With his current group of 11 graduate students and 3 industryfunded projects in mobile ad-hoc networks, airline networks and biochemical networks, his mainresearch interest is focused on defining and developing the field of Network Engineering.
